Microsoft Pushes Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21313 With Improvements

Microsoft has rolled out Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21313 (RS_PREELEASE) to Windows Insiders in the Dev channel. It is to be noted that Build 21313 will not be offered to ARM64 devices due to app compatibility issues. The product team is working hard to provide updates to ARM64 devices after the issue is fixed.

The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21313 has expanded news and interests to more languages and regions. The company has expanded the news and interest experience on the Taskbar to a wider set of International languages and markets. Prior to the release of Preview Build 21313, the news and interests were made available only in United States, Canada, Great Britain, India, and Australia.

The news content, weather forecasts, sports, and finance updates will be based on your location anywhere in the world. The News and Interests module will automatically detect your language and location, which enable localized experience of content from local publishers and data providers. The module is not available in China and will be rolled out to all Windows Insiders globally.

With Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21313, Microsoft Edge Legacy will be replaced by the new Microsoft Edge. The Microsoft Edge promises world-class performance with improved privacy and productivity features. The update has modernized Input Method Editor (IME) candidate window design. The Input Method Editor is redesigned with a modern design with Fluent Design principles, which includes an acrylic background, a new selection visual and dark theme support. Microsoft has adjusted the font size in the Candidate Windows UI in such a way to minimize the intrusiveness while securing visibility.

The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21313provides quick access to emoji to improve discoverability. The direct access to the Emoji panel is made possible via a button from the candidate Windows UI. You will be able to experience improved performance. The new UI design is compatible with the following languages and regions.

Chinese (Simplified) – Microsoft Wubi
Chinese (Traditional) – Microsoft Bopomofo
Chinese (Traditional) – Microsoft ChangJie

Bangla – Bangla Phonetic
Telugu – Telugu Phonetic
Tamil – Tamil Phonetic
Kannada – Kannada Phonetic
Malayalam – Malayalam Phonetic
Gujarati – Gujarati Phonetic
Odia – Odia Phonetic
Punjabi – Punjabi Phonetic

This feature is currently pushing to a small subset of Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel followed by a wider rollout. This will enable Microsoft to identify issues that could impact performance and reliability before rolling out to Dev channel Insiders. The update will automatically download on the background and will be installed upon selecting “Update and shudown” or Update and restart” option from the Power option inside the Start menu.
