Windows 10X Launch Rumors: Everything You Need To Know

Microsoft is reportedly gearing up to launch the next-generation Windows by early April. According to Microsoft leaker and tipster WalkingCate, the Redmond-based software giant is planning to release Windows 10X launch as a replacement to Windows 10. If rumors are to be believed, the launch of the new Windows 10X will happen in April 2021. We don’t have any information about the exact date of the launch but you can expect an announcement or teaser within the next few days.

Even though the rumored Windows 10X launch was originally planned for dual-screen devices, the company has deviated from the original plan. You can expect the availability of Windows 10X for single-screen devices such as laptops and convertibles. Windows 10X is a modern version of Windows with a simplified update module. The new build will provide enhanced protection against hacking and other security vulnerabilities.

The Windows 10X ships with a refreshed Start menu with the ability to run Modern Universal Windows Platform and progressive Web Apps. The performance of Win32 apps was not on the expected lines. There were reports that the existing Windows 10 interface could be codenamed Sun Valley but there is no official confirmation. We can expect the arrival of Sun Valley with Windows 10X. That being said, the Sun Valley user Interface will initially hit Windows Insiders program before making it widely available.

Microsoft is planning to conduct a What’s new for Windows event in April/May 2021 or similar session during the Build 2021 developer conference. Moreover, the Windows manufacturer is also gearing up to conduct an exclusive What’s new for gaming event by the end of March 2021. To begin with, Windows 10X will be pre-loaded in Microsoft-approved hardware. We don’t have any timeline as to when Microsoft will make Windows 10X available to all users and via MSDN subscription portal.
