The Redmond-based software giant has officially deactivated the Microsoft Cortana app for Android and iOS as of March 31, 2021. However, you can access reminders and lists via Windows or the To Do app. Even though the Cortana app has been removed from Android and iOS app marketplaces, you can still access it from within Windows 10. With the removal of Microsoft Cortana, Google Assistant, Alexa and Siri have emerged as competitors.
Microsoft has shut down the Cortana app for Android and iOS after 2.5 years of its official launch on November 2018. If you had created content using Cortana, it will stop functioning including lists and reminders. You can make use of Windows or the To Do app on Android and iOS to gather information. Microsoft has closed Cortana app to pave way for the Halo-inspired AI assistant powered by Microsoft 365.

The Android smartphones ship with Google Assistant and will be activated just by pressing the icon on the home screen. The iOS fans will always use Siri. Amazon lovers will work with Alexa assistant available via Amazon Echo Dot, Amazon Echo, and Amazon Echo Flex smart speakers.
