Microsoft will bring PC locking module in Windows 10 21H2

Microsoft is gearing up to release Windows 10 Version 21H2 code-named Sun Valley. According to sources, the rumored Windows 10 Version 21H2 aka Sun Valley update is a significant Windows 10 feature update with new Power and Sleep settings options. The core feature of the upcoming Windows 10 21H2 is the addition of aut0-locking functionality without any human intervention. Moreover, the auto-locking is set to trigger in 10 seconds, 30 seconds, and 2 minutes.

You will be able to configure distance for human presence for locking and unlocking the screen. The typical options will be 1ft, 2.5ft, and 4ft, which in Metric system the options are 0.35m, 0.6m, and 1.2m respectively. The new feature will be useful for corporate environments, where the system will automatically lock the display sensing the presence of the user.

The automated lock feature will be useful to protect not only the privacy but also the security of the data. The user will be required to unlock the screen upon return by providing the relevant credentials. The Windows 10 21H2 preview build also shipped with functionalities such as Device Usage, Windows Spotlight, Touch Keyboard Customization.
