Microsoft Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21359 Brings in News and Interests to all Dev Channel Insiders

Just a week after the release of Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21354, Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21359. The main highlight of the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21359 is the integration of news and interests on the Taskbar to 100% Dev Channel Windows Insiders.

The News and interests enable you to keep track of the latest news and developments at a glance without navigating to Google News. You just hover over the News and interests icon to view the related latest news, weather, and other information.

Microsoft had released News and interests to deselect Windows Insiders but they withdrew the module for further development. We had worked with News and interests for a short time and found it very productive. As of this writing, we are downloading the software bits in the background.

In addition to the pushing of News and interests to global Windows Insiders, Microsoft also added several changes and improvements in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21359. The update has added the Power menu on the Start menu to restart apps after signing in when you reboot your device. The Restart apps option located under Settings | Accounts | Sign-in options will be toggled when this setting is checked.

You will no longer have the option to upload new activity in Timeline if you have an activity history synced across your devices via the Microsoft Account. However, the AAD-connected account will not be impacted. Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome have the option to navigate back to the recent web activities to view web history. You can also view recently used files with the help of OneDrive and Microsoft Office.

Microsoft has renamed the Ease of Access category in Settings to Accessibility. Moreover, the Ebrima font has been updated to provide support for characters from Bamum with Unicode block U+A6A0 to U+A6FF. Moreover, Microsoft is updating the Nirmala UI font family to improve the way the Chakma characters are displayed when combined based on user feedback.
