Microsoft Pushes Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21390 To Dev Channel Windows Insiders

Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21390 to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. The update brings in new Fluent icons for the Task Manager and MSI installers as part of their routine iconography improvements. Microsoft recently pushed fluent icon for the NotePad app. The Windows Terminal Preview can be set as default terminal emulator on Windows. However, this required Windows terminal Preview version 1.9 or higher.

The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21390 has resolved an issue that causes the news and interests text on the Taskbar to appear blurry on some resolutions and scaling factors. The update resolved an issue resulting in certain punctuation not being displayed correctly when the display language was Chinese.

The update also fixed a svchost.exe crash related to cdp.dll, which some Windows Insiders have been experiencing in recent builds. Microsoft has fixed an issue, which impacts Start reliability in recent flights. If the text in the File Explorer search box would be black on a black background when using Dark mode, then the issue has been resolved.

The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21390 has fixed an issue in recent flights where a folder might not retain keyboard focus after being renamed in File Explorer. The issue resulting in Task Manager displaying the incorrect icon for some processes has been resolved. The update has fixed a second issue that causes some devices to fail when updating to this build with error code 0xc1900101. Microsoft recommends that you should file new feedback if you happen to receive this error code during the update process.

Microsoft also revealed known issues and the product team is working on resolving them. The Windows Camera App does not provide support to the default brightness setting set via the new Camera Settings page. If the Search results don’t show the Dark theme, then the issue will be resolved soon. If the News and interests flyout flashes in the top left corner of the screen after hovering on the icon on the Taskbar, then Microsoft is working to resolve the problem.

Microsoft also announced changes to the validity of the feedback. Going forward, the feedback hub will only retain last 15 months worth of feedback and will be implemented soon. However, this will not impact quests, collections, and achievements.
