Windows 10 KB5003214 Update Plagued By Taskbar Display Issues

The Windows 10 KB5003214 update is causing Taskbar display glitches. According to reports, the latest Windows 10 KB5003214 2004 20H2 and 20H1 preview updates are causing display issues and glitches on the Taskbar’s system tray.

Microsoft released an optional KB preview update to enable users to test drive the fixes that will be included in the June 2021 Patch Tuesday updates. It is to be noted that the June 2021 Patch will be mandatory for all users. The update also brings in the new Windows 10 News and interests module on the Taskbar for all users of Windows 10 2004 and above.

After the installation of the Windows 10 KB5003214, users have been reporting about the display problems on the Windows 10 Taskbar. The tray icons disappear and get pushed to the right. Moreover, the icon overlay each other or get pushed off the edge of the screen.

A Reddit user had shared that he faced display issues when he disabled the News and interests widget on the Taskbar. If you disable the News and interests module and a new system tray icon is shown, you will be able to view the glitch.

If you enable News and interests again, then the icon will display correctly. The bug can be fixed by uninstalling the KB5003214 preview update. Microsoft is expected to issue an update along with the June 8 Tuesday update. If not, then the issue will continue until the Redmond-based software giant issues the fix.
