Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19044.1149 (21H2 – KB5004296) to the Release preview channel. The update will apply to Windows Insiders in Release Preview already on Windows 10 version 21H2 and for those Windows Insiders who were moved from the Beta channel to the Release preview channel.
If you are on Windows 10 version 21H2, the update will be made available automatically via Windows Update. If you are not on 21H2, then Microsoft will offer it via seeker experience. You should navigate to Settings | Update & Security | Windows Update and choose to download and install Windows 10 version 21H2.
Microsoft has added a new policy, which creates generic strings and removed branding-specific terms such as Windows or PC for IoT Enterprise Editions. Microsoft has changed computer to device in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19044.1149 (21H2) update. You will notice “Getting things ready” instead of “Getting Windows ready” during the update process. To check the version of Windows, you just to type “winver” on the Windows search box.
