In an expected development, Reliance Jio has hiked prepaid tariff rates after the recent increase by Airtel and Vodafone. The Ambani-owned company has compelled to increase the rates to match with its competitors. The entry of Jio into the Indian mobile segment has thrown open significant development in the smartphone world. Moreover, Jio has been fulfilling the ambitious Digital India initiative. The launch of JioFiber Broadband also provided the boost to tech-savvy professionals and for those involved in the Work From Home because of the pandemic.
According to Reliance Jio, the company has increased the tariffs in line with its commitment to further strengthen a sustainable telecom industry. The revised unlimited plans will provide the best value in the industry. The Jio customers will continue to experience best-quality service at the lowest price globally. The new unlimited plans will be effective from December 1, 2021 and can be opted from all existing touchpoints and channels.
The JioPhone plan of Rs 75 has been increased to Rs 91 for 28 days with 3GB per month, unlimited voice and 50 SMS. The unlimited plans provide unlimited voice, data and 100 SMS per day.
The popular Rs 555 plan with 1.5GB per day, unlimited voice and 100 SMS per day with 84 days validity will be available for Rs 666 starting December 1. The yearly plan with 2GB data per day, unlimited voice and 100 SMS per day with 365 days validity is priced at Rs 2879 instead of Rs 2399.
The package with 24GB data, unlimited voice and 3600 SMS with 336 days of validity costs Rs 1559 instead of the current cost of Rs 1299. The 2GB per day package for 84 days with unlimited voice and 100 SMS per day will costs Rs 719 instead of the current Rs 599.
Ever since Jio started it service, the 84 days package was the most popular among tech-savvy enthusiasts. The yearly packages comes with Disney+Hotstar for one year and the company has announced the price increase for the package without Disney subscription. We expect the company to increase the rate for all plans starting December 1.
