Microsoft Pushes Redesigned Notepad For Windows 11 With Dark Mode

Microsoft has started to rollout redesigned Notepad for Windows 11 to all Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. The refreshed Windows 11 comes with several changes and improvements. The entire UI has been completely updated to align with the new visual design of Windows 11, which includes rounded corners, Mica and much more. According to Microsoft, Notepad is one of the important part of our daily workflows and hence the product team wants to provide modern spin on the classic app.

Microsoft has updated Notepad with Dark mode. Even though Notepad will adapt to the system theme preferences, you can modify the option the new settings page, which also hosts font options. The find and replace option has been redesigned to bring a productive work experience. The company also added support for multi-level undo as per top community feature request.

Microsoft revealed that productivity, performance and reliability are paramount in Notepad. Moreover, Notepad continues to excel in all areas irrespective of the incorporation method of the app. The Redmond-based software giant has also added that they will be addressing known issues in future updates with the redesigned Notepad.

This includes keyboard access keys usage issues when switching between different input languages or while using Japanese IME. You could notice unexpected behavior when using Shift-Click to select text or while scrolling. Moreover, the loading performance will be improved when opening very large files.
