Google has announced a whooping massive reward worth Rs 65 crore to India-based Aman Pandey for reporting and submitting security vulnerabilities in Android. His feedback has made the Android OS safe for the community. Aman runs Bugsmirror and has submitted a massive 232 vulnerabilities in 2021. He is regarded as the topmost security researcher in terms of reporting vulnerabilities. After graduating from NIT Bhopal, Aman established the company in 2021 ut has been working with Android vulnerabilities since 2019.
According to Sarah Jacobus from the Google Vulnerability Rewards Team, Aman has managed to submit over 280 vulnerabilities since 2019 and has played a crucial role in the Android operating platform. Moreover, the Sundar Pichai-run company has paid a massive $8.7 million in vulnerability rewards. The vulnerabilities are reported not only in Android but also with Google Chrome, Google Search, Google Play, and much more.
Jacobus added that Google provides maximum reward for reporting Android vulnerabilities. Google has increased the payments by nearly $3 million in 2021 when compared with 2020. Google awarded $157,000 in 2021 for an exploit chain vulnerability. As many as 115 Google Chrome researchers were rewarded for 333 unique Chrome security bug reports in 2021, which equates to $2.2 million in rewards. While Chrome browser awarded $3.1 million, the Google Chrome OS bugs were gifted away with $250,000.
