Microsoft has released Windows 10 Build 19044.1618 to Release Preview Channel Windows Insiders. The Windows 10 Build 19044.1618 has introduced search highlights in Windows 10. This feature was introduced in the Windows 11 Insider Preview and will be rolled out in a phased manner. The same search highlights functionality is now available to Windows 10 and will be pushed in a phased manner followed by a wider rollout.
With Search highlights, the Taskbar search box and search home periodically update with content, fun illustrations including the ability to stay productive. You can also search for your apps, files, settings, and quick answers. The search highlights present notable and interesting moments about holidays, anniversaries, and other educational moments.
You can explore additional content in search home related to each moment like word of the day, Microsoft Rewards offers trending searches, and much more. The left side of search home also displays an extended list of the recently launched apps, files, settings including websites. The search highlights will feature the latest updates not only from your organization but also from the suggested people, files, and more.
You can explore files that could interest you and navigate via the people’s chart of your organization. You can deactivate search highlights by navigating to Search | select/clear “Show search highlights”. The search highlights will start rolling out to AAD and workplace joined machines in select tenant groups. The company will roll out general availability including domain-linked machines in the upcoming months.
