Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22581 to the Dev and Beta Channels. The Redmond-based software giant is currently flighting Build 22581 to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel. With both the Dev and Beta Channels receiving the same builds, Microsoft has allowed Windows Insiders to switch channels as per the requirement. The switching window will be available for a short period of time. The latest build also provides several new features and improvements including bug fixes.
Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22581 to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel. The Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel can work with new features such as Live Captions, Start folders, redesigned Task Manager, tablet-optimized Taskbar, Desktop improvements, and much more. You can switch Windows Insider Channels by navigating to Settings | Windows Update | Windows Insider Program and selecting “Choose your insider settings” option. You have to select Beta Channel to switch from Dev to Beta channel. The change will reflect from the next update.
Microsoft has revealed that the change window will automatically close when they release builds with higher build numbers to the Dev Channel. If you stay on the Dev Channel and received a build that is a higher build number than in the Beta Channel, you will have to perform a clean installation of the Windows 11 on your device to migrate to the Beta Channel. The Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel will be able to migrate to Beta Channel if desired while this migration window is still open. You need not have to perform any changes if you wish to continue with the Dev Channel.
Microsoft is currently conducting parallel development for both Dev and Beta Channels. The Dev Channel enables Insiders to test different concepts, incubate new ideas, and work on modules that are not yet made available to general customers. However, the Beta Channel will be the place to preview experiences that are shipped to general customers.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22581 has introduced changes and improvements related to Taskbar, Settings, Start menu, Focus, File Explorer, Input, Settings, Windowing, Voice access, Narrator, Task Manager, and much more.
