Jumpshare Review: Excellent Modern Cloud Storage Platform

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown, the importance of cloud storage providers such as Jumpshare is rising rapidly. With the help of Jumpshare, you can share your work instantly within seconds via shareable links. The main highlight of Jumpshare cloud storage platform is that it combines file sharing, screenshot capture, and video recording in one single platform. You can drag files to the system tray icon and a sharable link can be copied to the clipboard. You can instantly reveal your work by previewing over 200 file formats online. You can capture pixel-perfect screenshots with annotation and markup to share ideas and bugs. With Jumpshare, you can record your screen in either video or GIF instead of composing thousand words. The screen recording module can be used in conjunction with drawing, audio, and web camera.

To work with Jumpshare, you should sign up for account. The company provides free plan with 2GB of storage space, 250MB file size limit, 30 seconds recording time, screenshot/GIF capture, basic search, OAuth via Google, SSL including apps for Windows, Mac, and iPhone. The paid plans such as Plus, Business, and Enterprise are available at fixed rate per month and are billed either monthly or annually.

We signed up for a free account for the purpose of this review. You can signup either using Google, Microsoft, and Apple accounts including email. You have to provide a name for your workspace and you will be prompted to download the Jumpshare desktop tool. Alternatively, you can navigate to the web-based JumpShare dashboard, which looks like as shown below.

You can upload files to the new folder by double-clicking on the folder name. You can also upload files directly to the main dashboard but it’s difficult to manage. We uploaded a sample file and the process was quick. Unlike other competing cloud storage providers, JumpShare enables users to save notes in the form of text, code, and markdown.

Capturing screenshots

The main attraction of Jumpshare is its ability to capture screenshots. However, you should download the desktop app to make use of this feature. The Jumpshare desktop tool will be visible either on the desktop or taskbar. You will find options like Capture, Record, GIF on the tool.

The Record module enables users to capture screencasts of the desktop. You can easily create tutorials and upload them directly to Jumpshare servers including the ability to fetch the content via URL.

You can directly upload new files from the desktop app by selecting “Upload” button. You can perform all the relevant tasks from the Jumpshare app easily.

Conclusion

Jumpshare is an excellent cloud storage provider with more features when compared with traditional providers. While competing cloud storage providers can be used only for storing files, Jumpshare can be used to store notes, record screen, and much more. The company has integrated excellent features that are useful for tech-savvy minds. Moreover, the desktop app enables users to perform all the activities available on the web-based dashboard. The free plan only provides 2GB storage but is sufficient for beginners. The company offers higher plans at affordable rates.
