Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22610 To Dev and Beta Channels

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22610 to the Dev and Beta channels. The build introduces new group policies for IT administrators and an update to the Family Safety Widget. The latest update also includes bug fixes to improve the user experience. The build includes two new issues that impact Windows Insiders, which include the hidden icons flyout in the system tray. The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22610 includes additional new MDM and group policies for IT administrators.

Microsoft has introduced new policies so that IT administrators can simplify Windows 11 user experience across Start, Taskbar, and the System Tray. The following policies are available with the latest build 22610.

  • Disable Quick Settings flyout
  • Disable Notification Center and calendar flyouts
  • Disable all taskbar settings
  • Disable search across Start & taskbar
  • Hide Task View from taskbar
  • Block customization of Pinned in Start
  • Hide Recommended in Start
  • Disable Start context menus
  • Hide All apps in Start
  • Family Safety Widget Update

Microsoft has rolled out updates to the Family Safety widget with improvements for all family members with a new location-sharing view. It displays where your family members are making use of the Family Safety app. There is a new update for people in a member role, which includes an enhanced view of your screen time use across apps and devices.

The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22610 includes several changes and improvements. The Windows 11 Home edition Dev and Beta channel build no longer enables the SMB1 client by default. The design of the battery has been updated on the Lock Screen to sync with the Taskbar. Microsoft has removed the build watermark located at the lower right-hand corner of the desktop in this build. However, this doesn’t mean watermark will never return back. It could be inducted in the next build. We don’t know.

Microsoft has disabled the tablet-optimized taskbar functionality based on the Windows Insiders feedback. The changes in Widgets with extra dynamic content released with Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22563 is currently rolling out to more Windows Insiders in the Dev and Beta channels.
