Microsoft has announced Viva Engage app for Microsoft Viva, which is designed to enable people and teams to lend a voice and feel included in the workplace. Viva Engage provides leaders with a new way to shape culture at their organizations by unlocking communication and engagement opportunities for everyone.
The company has designed and developed Viva Engage based on the foundation of Yammer. Microsoft has been increasingly focusing on the development of Microsoft Teams since its take over of Yammer 10 years back. The usage of Microsoft Teams has increased after the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Microsoft, nearly 43% of leaders believe that relationship-building is the greatest challenge of Hybrid and Remote work and viva Engage is being launched to fill the gap.
Viva Engage is a social app for digital communities, conversations, and self-expression tools that depends on the existing capabilities of the Communities app for teams and Microsoft 365. This is to establish connectivity with employees and empower teams to contribute and express themselves by meeting people. Viva Engage contributes to Viva Connections and Viva Topics and extends community, conversation, and knowledge experiences into other areas of Viva.
If you are unaware, Viva Engage is a place to share news and strategy, model culture, employees speaking abilities, and conversations. If you are an employee, Viva Engage enables people to build communities and professional networks, share their work and perspective and find answers to their common questions. The advanced features such as storyline, stories, best Answer, @mentions, and topics enable participation and build communities and relationships among coworkers.
Viva Engage introduces a new way to share your experiences via a dedicated storyline. You can either share posts and stories on the storyline. You can create rich posts that include links, files, photos, and videos. These posts automatically reach and engage followers in Microsoft Viva Connections, Outlook, Teams, and Yammer. The new Storylines tab features feed of posts from people you follow and recommended colleagues. You can also share short videos or photos, which creates an impact among the masses.
