Google One VPN is currently available on Windows and Mac laptops and is considered a deal breaker because the service is so far available only on Android devices. The search engine giant has rolled out One VPN desktop apps which is available right now. However, the Google One VPN service is not yet available in India. We don’t have any confirmation regarding when Google will launch VPN because of the adverse rules in place.
Google One VPN works by encrypting your online activity by offering an extra layer of protection. The app provides a shield against hackers on unsecure networks such as public Wi-Fi. Moreover, the Google One VPN app also automatically hides your IP address, which gives much-needed protection against hackers.
As of this writing, Google One VPN service is available in 2 countries such as UK, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Taiwan, Switzerland, and the US. Even though Google One service is available in India, the company is yet to launch the One VPN service. This could be because of the adverse rule framed by Modi Government, which mandates maintenance of VPN data, and customer list for a period of five years.
Google One VPN is available with premium plans of Google One with 2TB or higher storage. The cost of Google One is $10 per month or Rs 650 per month. If you are in India, you will not be able to work with Google One VPN because of its nonavailability although Google One subscription is available.
Google One VPN was made available on Android devices and recently pushed to iOS devices. Google VPN service is designed in such a way that the connection will not track, collect or sell your online activity. Google VPN will not track users’ activity on the network. Moreover, the company will not log data such as network traffic, DNS, IP address, VPN, and other personal information.
The basic 15GB plan is free, while the 100GB Google One plan is priced at Rs 130 per month. The standard 200GB plan costs Rs 210 per month. The premium 2TB Google One plan is available for Rs 650 per month. Google provides access to Google experts including the ability to share up to 5 devices along with extra member benefits.
