Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.1020 and 22623.1020 to the Beta Channel Windows Insiders. While new features are pushed in Build 22623.1020, new features are deactivated by default in Build 22621.1020. You should note that Windows Insiders who were previously on Build 22622 will automatically migrated to Build 22623 via an enablement package. The package artificially increments the build number for the update with new features. This approach is used only for the Beta Channel and is not indicative of any changes.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22623.1020 has added support for new Braille displays in Narrator including new Braille input and output languages. Microsoft has integrated APH Chamelon, APH Mantis Q40, NLS eReader, and much more. The first step is to remove Narrator’s current Braille support by navigating to Settings | Apps | Optional features | Installed features.
You should then search for accessibility | Braille support. You should expand accessibility and uninstall Braille support feature. You can install new Narrator Braille support by navigating to Settings | Accessibility | Narrator | Braille. You have to select more button and download Braille from the new window by selecting the Download and install braille button. You can restart the computer after the braille is installed. You should select the braille display driver used by the third-party screen reader from the braille display driver option to continue to switch between Narrator and third-party screen readers.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22623.1020 has resolved a bug associated with the spelling dictionary that makes use of a language-neutral word list and syncs across all devices that use the same Windows account. The update fixed explorer.exe crash in the previous Beta Channel flight related to the system tray.
The update also resolved an issue that caused certain third-party app icons in the system tray to become unresponsive after the latest round of system tray updates. Moreover, the Windows Update icon will not look pixelated after swapping between light and dark modes. The Desktops list in Task View should no longer appear to be floating in the middle of Task View if you have dual monitors. After the installation of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22623.1020 update, you will notice that the open navigation pane button has been moved under the title bar when Task Manager is wide enough.
