Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25262 to the Dev Channel Windows Insiders. The build has added changes for Widgets and considerable bug fixes for Windows Insiders. Microsoft also released an update to Media Player with a small improvement for video folders. If you are unaware, Microsoft also integrated screen recording in Snipping Tool to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. However, this feature will be only available in a phased manner.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25262 has removed the sign-in requirement for the Widgets board and making it available for all users. You can fetch weather updates/Finance Ticker on the Taskbar including the ability to pin widgets from your favorite apps or access personalized dynamic feed without a Microsoft account.
The update has added a link to Quick Assist at the bottom of Settings | System | Troubleshooters. If the explorer.exe crashed as a result of the Widgets app package, then the issue has been resolved. The build resolved an issue that causes secondary drives or other PCI devices not viewable for certain Windows Insiders.
The issue related to auto-hiding of the Taskbar with the hidden icons flyout has been resolved. The update resolved an issue that caused a gap between full-screen Windows and the Taskbar on secondary monitors. The system tray area will not shift as the numbers change in the clock. If the top half of the media controls in Quick Settings missing then the issue has been resolved. The update resolved an issue where you needed to press backspace after viewing results for certain files ending with .cmd, .exe, or .bat.
The Windows 11 Insider preview Build 25262 has enhanced the performance of launching the search window. If the Windows 11 search box would not display on multiple monitors as expected then the problem has been resolved. If the search box momentarily flash before the Search flyout is displayed, then the issue has been resolved. If explorer.exe crashed when opening certain items from the recent section in File Explorer, then the issue has been resolved.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25262 has pushed an update for Media Player version 11.2211.34.0 to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. The new feature brings the ability to navigate via the video library by folder. Microsoft also announced December 2022 Bug Bash for Windows Insiders in the Dev and Beta channels. You will view quests inside Feedback Hub, which covers various scenarios. The Bug Bash runs until December 12, 11.59 PST. Microsoft will provide a badge in the Feedback Hub after the end of the Bug Bash.
