Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25276 to Dev Channel Windows Insiders

Microsoft has announced Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25276 to the Dev Channel Windows Insiders. Microsoft also released ISOs for this build that can be downloaded from the blog post page. In the latest build, you will find Task Manager changes, and enhancements to the Settings account page including improvements and bug fixes. The Redmond-based software giant also released previews of the Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Devices apps that are available in the Microsoft Store on Windows 11. However, the previews are available only in the US. The update has replaced the Network Troubleshooter in the OS with a new network connectivity troubleshooting experience with the help of the Get Help app.

After the installation of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25276, you will be able to create live kernel memory dumps in Task Manager. Microsoft has introduced new developer-centric features in Task Manager, which is used to aid the collection of Live Kernel Memory Dumps. This is in addition to the existing Memory dump for user mode processes. The intention is to reduce downtime when compared with a bug check for non-fatal but high-impact failures and hanging behaviors.

You can capture a live Kernel Memory Dump by navigating to the Task Manager Detail Page and right-clicking on the System process. The context menu should light up to display “Create live kernel memory dump file” to capture a Full live kernel or Kernel stack memory dumps. The dumps are placed in a fixed location as shown below.

You can navigate to the Task Manager Settings page to view/edit the settings for live kernel memory dumps.

Cloud Storage Updates

The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25276 has been updated to include Outlook attachment data in your cloud storage inside Settings. This new feature is currently being rolled out to a select group of Windows Insiders followed by a global rollout.

Microsoft has updated the dialog, which displays when an app has a compatibility issue. The dialog is being updated on a continuous basis and you will notice compatibility issues with the dark theme. The search box design in the Start menu has been updated with several rounded corners to sync with the Taskbar search box design. Microsoft has temporarily disabled the updated Windows Security notification dialogs, which match the Windows 11 visuals that were previously introduced with Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25267. This feature will be reintroduced in an upcoming flight with improvements.

The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25276 has resolved an issue related to switching windows via Taskbar. The build fixed multiple explorer.exe crashes that affect the system tray. The latest flight has resolved an explorer.exe crash that could occur when opening File Explorer. The Calculator app will not work properly when input is provided via Voice access. If the system crashed while giving left and right commands with voice access, then the problem has been resolved. The issue pertaining to Pinyin IME is double pinyin mode has been fixed.

Microsoft has replaced the Network Troubleshooter in Windows 11 with a modern Get Help based experience. The company has implemented new APIs that can diagnose problems and provide specific recommendations to get Internet connectivity back. The app is developed to target nearly 30 most common connectivity issues. You need Get Help app version 10.2208.2551.0 or higher to make use of the new experience.
