Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23419 to the Dev Channel Windows Insiders. Microsoft also released ISOs for the new build. After the installation of the latest release, you will be able to create live kernel memory dumps in Task Manager. This feature is in addition to the existing “Memory dump” for user mode processes.
The main purpose of the kernel live dump is to gather data to troubleshoot an abnormal situation. This reduces downtime when compared with a bug check for non-fatal failures and hangs that cause high-impact.
You should navigate to the Details page in Task Manager and right-click on the System process to capture a live kernel memory dump. The context menu will display “Create live kernel memory dump file” to capture a Full live kernel or kernel stack memory dumps. The dumps will be written to %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\TaskManager\LiveKernelDumps. You can also navigate to the Task Manager Settings page to view and edit the settings for live kernel memory dumps.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23419 has added a USB4 hubs and devices Settings page. You can locate the option by navigating to Settings | Bluetooth & devices | USB | USB4 Hubs and Devices. The USB4 technology provides new productivity scenarios for docking, high-performance peripherals, displays, and charging.
The settings page provides detailed information about the system’s USB4 capabilities and attached peripherals on a USB4-capable system. These analytic insights will be helpful for device manufacturers or system administrators for troubleshooting purposes. You will be able to view the tree of connected USB4 hubs and devices including attributes and capabilities associated with the USB4 domain. You can copy the relevant details into the clipboard for easy sharing with customer support or system administrators.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23419 has added cloud suggestion in Simplified Chinese IME in addition to integrated search suggestions. The cloud suggestion is developed to add the most relevant word from Bing to the IME candidate window.
The back-end logic has been updated to provide better and fresh suggestions. The integrated search suggestion provides additional suggestions that are identical to those displayed on the Bing search page. It’s possible to directly insert a text suggestion or search it directly from within Bing.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23419 has added new features for app defaults with app pinning features coming up in an upcoming flight. The Recommended section of the Start menu is modified as “For you”. However, this feature will be available only among a small group of Windows Insiders. The glanceable VPN status will display in the system accent color.
Microsoft has added the capability to display seconds in the clock on the system tray. You can enable this feature by navigating to Settings | Personalization | Taskbar in the Taskbar behavior section. The Taskbar search box will include a button that opens the Bing chat experience in Microsoft Edge. You will vie a dynamic search highlight button if you don’t have access to the new Bing. This feature is being rolled out in a phased manner.
