Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25352 to the Canary Channel with a refreshed Widget experience. After the installation of this update, the name of the branch shown in the desktop watermark has changed to ZN_RELEASE. The product team will prioritize work that is being done in a specific branch and will migrate Windows Insiders between branches. The builds tagged with ZN_RELEASE will be treated same as RS_PRERELEASE branch. You will notice the removal of certain features as a result of the change but they will be back soon.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25352 has started to push a revamped Widget picker experience. This change will also be applicable in the Dev Channel. An image provides a visual preview of the widget before pinning.
A deep linking functionality enables users to jump directly to the picket from the provider app/service. There will be a link to the Widgets Store collection page where users will be able to discover more apps with widgets.
The builds released to the Canary Channel are hot off the presses. The company will provide documentation only if there are new features. The Canary Channel is a place to preview changes that require a longer-lead time before being pushed to general customers. This includes changes to the Windows Kernel, new APIs, and much more.
Microsoft revealed that changes included in the Canary Channel will never ship and are not matched with any specific release of Windows. Microsoft has warned that certain functions will not work correctly after the installation of the Canary Channel update. Microsoft has provided Windows 11 Installation USB Disk for Windows Insiders who would like to migrate to Dev Channel by clean installation.
