Microsoft has announced the launch of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23521 to the Dev Channel with Windows 365 and Windows Copilot improvements. You can participate in the Windows 365 Switch public preview after installation of this update. However, the feature will be available only for Windows Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels.
Windows 365 Improvements
With the help of Windows 365 Switch, you will be able to move between a Windows 365 Cloud PC and the local desktop. You can make use of the same keyboard commands including mouse click or a swipe gesture via Task View on the Windows 11 Taskbar.
Windows Copilot
Microsoft has once again introduced Windows Copilot for those users who logged in and managed by AAD. You need not have to enable Windows Copilot via Group Policy Editor. Microsoft has renamed AAD as Microsoft Entra ID. You can activate never combined mode by adjusting “Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels” to never.
Microsoft also provided a separate setting for activating this option for other taskbars such as multiple monitor scenarios. You can sync your Windows accent color with the devices around you with the “Match my Windows accent color” toggle under Settings | Personalization | Dynamic Lighting | Effects. You can even select a custom color to light up your devices with.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23521 has refreshed the Task Manager settings page to match the design principles of Windows 11. The page provides a cleaner UI that separates categories into different sections. The dialogs in Task Manager have also been updated. After installing this flight, you can disable Windows Spotlight if this feature was automatically activated after enabling the default Windows 11 background. You have to re-enable Windows Spotlight to enjoy the experience.
Windows Search now makes use of the Microsoft Bing Search app to return web content and search results. You need not have enable Developer Mode to work with the end task feature under System | For Developers. Windows required consent to share data between Windows 11 and other signed-in Microsoft Services in the European Economic Area. This flight has limited the Windows features but additional features will be added in the upcoming builds.
Improved Snipping Tool
Microsoft has started to roll out an update to Widgets for Windows Insiders in the Dev and Canary channels. You will be able to pin the widgets boards and can access them within a single glance. You simply click the pin icon located in the top right corner of the board to pin the board. Moreover, the Redmond-based software giant has also started to push an update to Snipping Tool to Windows Insiders in the Dev and Canary Channels. The flight introduces new buttons using which you can edit screenshots in Microsoft Paint and video recordings in ClipChamp.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23521 has resolved an issue where you couldn’t drag a file out of an archived folder. If you had experienced a File Explorer crash when dragging the scrollbar or attempting to close the window during an extended file-loading process, then the issue has been resolved. If the USB icon and options are removed from the System Tray, then the issue has been resolved. The explorer.exe crash that impacts system tray reliability has been resolved. If other unrelated apps are closed upon using End Task on certain apps, then the issue has been fixed.
