Threads have got a minor feature refresh with the launch of Twitter-centric features such as Threads Repost. According to Meta, the Threads app has been updated with a repost tab functionality. The addition of the Threads Repost feature assumes importance with the number of daily active users decreased by 80% after the launch of the app in July. The initial hype over Threads has now diminished with X (formerly Twitter) offering slew of incentives to attract users.
According to reports, the company has addressed the feedback from the community. Adam Mosseri, Instagram head took to Threads and disclosed that this functionality will enable users to view reposts in a dedicated tab on their profile page. He added that they are rolling out a new Reposts tab on your profile to enable users to view all the threads your reposted under one single place. The feature was added based on your feedback.
It looks like Threads Repost feature has started to roll out in a phased manner. Hence, it will take few days for the functionality to hit the devices. The Repost feature is identical to that of X’s (formerly Twitter) retweet module. We have been sharing tweets via retweet functionality for several years.
Interestingly, Elon Musk had threatened to sue Meta for reportedly stealing the company’s trade secrets and intellectual property. Musk’s attorney Alex Spiro issued legal notice to Meta and added that the company is engaged in systematic, willful, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property. Musk had blamed Zuckerberg of hiring former X (formerly Twitter) employees to develop a copycat app. He accused former employees of retaining confidential documents and electronic devices illegally.
