Google has refreshed Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides Android apps with a major design refresh. According to reports, the elements will have larger, rounder, and more colorful by enhancing usability. The upcoming Google Docs will place the Toolbar at the top for a streamlined experience across apps. Google is also planning to update Workspace apps with all the features that are borrowed from their web versions. This includes fresh iconography, colors, and rounded elements.
Google has shared a screenshot of the apps tablet interface. We have to wait and see whether the UI will scale properly on mobile. We also don’t know when the search engine giant will roll out the update. Google is also pushing a change where you will view Type @ to insert option. This will help you to make use of the smart canvas functionality in Sheets.
Google also announces tools for parents and guardians using which they can manage their kids personal accounts. You will be able to manage children’s devices and other online activities with the help of the Family Link module. You can manage app approval and screen time limits. The products such as YouTube Kids, KidsSpace, and teacher-approved apps in the Google Play Store enable kids to explore the web from their homes. They can use their personal accounts and devices with age-appropriate content.
Google also announced the launch of curricula like Be Internet Awesome, which teaches kids and skills they need to stay safe and responsible. The Android manufacturer also established partnerships with companies such as CommonSense Media, ConnectSafely, and FOSI. These platforms will enable families in protecting students online. With the help of Be Internet Awesome, you will be able to find several tools for learning at home, FAQs, the Families website, and the Google Safety Center.
