Microsoft has announced the launch of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.2271 and 22631.2271 to the Beta Channel Windows Insiders. While new features are rolling out in Build 22631.2271, the new features are deactivated by default in Build 22621.2271. Microsoft has disabled Windows Ink improvements introduced with Build 22631.2050, which enabled linking directly onto edit fields. The product team is working on the resolve bugs that impact the usability of the experience.
Microsoft has resolved an issue where the progress wheel in the tab would get stuck. This will show File Explorer was loading a folder when the loading had already finished. The flight has resolved an issue where File Explorer would crash upon opening two instances rapidly. The update resolved an issue that could make explorer.exe to crash while navigating away from Home. If you open Gallery after adding new images that will crash but this issue is now fixed. Microsoft also added several bug fixes to enhance File Explorer launch performance.
This includes fixing a leak that could impact performance over time. If the File Explorer sorting changes wouldn’t persist in fo9lders after navigating away and back, then the issue has been resolved. The issue pertaining to File Explorer icons has been resolved.
Microsoft has resolved an issue that causes the Windows Copilot icon in the Taskbar to flip backward for RTL languages. The flight has resolved a high-hitting tabtlp.exe crash that could have impacted the ability to type in the last coupled flights. If explorer.exe crashed upon switching search on the icon in Taskbar Settings, then the issue has been resolved. If you are unable to paste a folder path to mount into the dialog while creating a new Dev Drive.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.2271 has resolved an issue that could cause Task Manager to crash when making use of the End Task option on the Details page recent builds. It automatically increments the build number for the update with new features that get rolled out. This approach is being used for the Beta Channel only and is not indicative of any changes or plans for final feature rollouts.
