Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23541 to the Dev Channel. The update has added Rich thumbnail previews for cloud files under Recommended on the Start menu. The ability to right-click to share on these files that were rolled out with Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23511 could temporarily disappear for Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. The update has resolved an issue related to dragging app icons in the Taskbar. It could lead to an explorer.exe crash. If the tooltip while hovering over the search box doesn’t match the current search highlight, then the issue has been resolved. Microsoft also resolved an issue pertaining to pasting a folder path to mount into the dialog while creating a new Dev Drive.
After the installation of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23541, the icons on the desktop could display as generic white pages instead of proper icons. You will notice an issue where the progress wheel icon gets struck in the File Explorer tab even though the folder has finished loading. The sort order of folders doesn’t persist if you navigate away from the folder.
You will also notice that PWA apps that are installed via Microsoft Edge could incorrectly labeled as a system component. The updated Emoji 15 support that was rolled out with Build 23475 and the updated color font format with COLRv1 support that was pushed with Build 23506 will no longer appear after updating to Build 23541 because of a bug. The installation of the update will cause high hitting tabip.exe crash, which impacts the ability for some Insiders to type.
Microsoft is also gearing up to re-enable Windows Copilot Preview in some regions. The move is after feedback that Windows Copilot is not available in some regions. You can make use of Alt+Tab to swap out of Windows Copilot and vice versa. The Win+C keyboard shortcut will move focus back to Windows Copilot while first launching Windows Copilot.
Microsoft also rolled out Microsoft Store updates for Windows Insiders in all channels running version 22308.1401.x.x of the Microsoft Store and higher.
