Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23545 to the Dev Channel Windows Insiders. Microsoft has rolled out new user experiences, which will occur when you click on the search highlight gleam in the search box. If you click on the gleam, you will be taken to Bing.com home page for the search highlight. You will view a Tooltip when hovering over the search box for the search highlight gleam.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23545 has started to roll out the ability to quickly provide a more user-friendly name. This is to identify sharing to and from with nearby share located under Settings | System | Nearby sharing. Microsoft also started to roll out the ability to view Microsoft Teams contacts to send files to users directly from within the integrated Windows share window. This will happen if you have signed in with an Entra ID (AAD) account.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23545 has resolved an issue that causes explorer.exe to crash when closing File Explorer. The issue related to the swapping of dark and light mode has been resolved. This will happen in File Explorer’s address bar, command bar, and context menu with mismatched colors. The flight resolved an issue where if you launch File Explorer in Dark theme, you could view a bright white flash as content loaded.
The update resolved a problem where rapidly opening File Explorer windows could make explorer.exe crash. Microsoft has rectified few bugs to enhance the performance of File Explorer. This includes fixing a leak that could impact performance over time.
If the explorer.exe crashes when navigating away from Home, then the issue has been resolved. The issue pertaining to Gallery, progress bar wheel struck in the tab, File Explorer sorting changes, and File Explorer tab icons have been fixed. If the desktop icons are displayed as white generic icons until you refresh, the issue has been resolved. The update resolved a high-hitting explorer.exe crash that impacted taskbar reliability. If the search is not launched, then the issue has been resolved.
Microsoft has fixed the issue related to Unicode Emoji 15 (Build 23475) and the updated color font format with COLRv1 (Build 23506) no longer appear. You will be able to work with these new experiences after the installation of this update. The issue related to the Japanese and Chinese IME candidate windows has been fixed. The flight also resolved a high-hitting tabtip.exe crash that could have impacted the ability to type effectively. If the Settings wasn’t launching in safe mode, then the issue has been resolved. The update resolved an issue while trying to capture window mode screenshots.
Microsoft will re-enable Windows Copilot for Windows Insiders who are unable to enjoy the experience in some regions. You can make use of the Alt+Tab keyboard shortcut to swap out of Windows Copilot but not back to the Copilot. Microsoft also released ISOs for this build that can be downloaded from the official Windows Insider blog post.
