Microsoft Product Chief Panos Panay has quit the company after being in the rolls of the software giant for a long time. He will be replaced by Pavan Davuluri, who is currently serving as Vice President at Microsoft. Panos took to X (formerly Twitter) and revealed that he has decided to turn the page and write the next chapter after 19 incredible years at Microsoft. He expressed gratitude for his time at Microsoft and the amazing people he had the honor to develop products with.

According to company sources, Microsoft’s Pavan Davuluri will now manage Windows Software, Surface devices, and semiconductor chips departments. Davuluri will play a crucial role in the development of Windows operating system.
Reuters has accessed an email sent to the staff by Rajesh Jha, Executive Vice President of Experiences and Devices group at Microsoft. The reports suggest that Davuluri will build silicon, systems, and devices that span Windows, client, and cloud for an AI world. The Redmond-based software giant has integrated generative AI into a wide range of products such as cloud, search, and Office Suite. The integration of Bing Chat into Windows 11 and Skype is a step in the right direction.
Interestingly, Panay had tweeted about the upcoming launch event in New York on September 21. The company is expected to announce new Surface devices and updates to the Windows 11 operating system. The company is also expected to reveal AI innovations.

Panay steps down after 20 years of dedicated service. He was in charge of the development of Surface devices from its early days. Panay was also part of the team involved in the Windows 11 launch. He is also instrumental in changing the shape of the Windows Insider Program. An internal e-mail communication revealed that Davuluri will report to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
Davuluri holds a bachelor’s Degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and Masters from University of Maryland. He is currently working as Corporate Vice President at Microsoft. He joined Microsoft in 2001 as Reliability Component Manager. He became Design Verification Manager in 2005 and was a distinguished engineer from 2019. He was Surface General Manager from 2015 in addition to additional duties as Corporate Vice President, Windows Silicon & Systems Integration.
