Microsoft has rolled out Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23555 to Dev Channel Windows Insiders. The update has resolved an issue that causes explorer.exe to crash while trying to open Copilot from the Taskbar. The flight has resolved issues that prevented users from previewing Narrator natural voices in Settings. Microsoft has resolved an issue that prevented Narrator from reading the time stamp on Start’s recommended items correctly. The Build 23555 also resolved an issue that caused Task Manager to crash while changing Always on Top mode.
After the installation of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23555, you will notice that some apps under All apps on the Start menu could incorrectly be labeled as a system component. This includes PWA apps that are installed via Microsoft Edge. The new Copilot icon is not available in Dev Channel builds and the product team is working to get it updated in an upcoming flight. If the Windows Copilot Preview is not available in some regions for Dev Channel Windows Insiders, then you will be able to experience it the Copilot in a future flight.
You can make use of Alt = Tab to swap out of Windows Copilot and not back. You should note that Windows + C will move focus back to Windows Copilot. You will need to use Show grid commands to click in the Ask me anything box for the first time while launching or after refreshing Copilot while using voice access.
