Microsoft has announced the launch of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25977 to the Canary Channel along with the relevant ISO files. The flight includes Bluetooth LE Audio accessibility improvements. Microsoft has added support for the usage of hearing aids that are equipped with the latest Bluetooth LE Audio technology.
You will be able to use hearing aids to directly pair, stream audio, and attend calls directly from the Windows PC with Low Energy Audio support. This feature is currently available on devices with Bluetooth LE Audio support. Microsoft disclosed that they will introduce additional capabilities to the hearing aids experience such as the ability to control audio presets directly within Windows settings.
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25977 has added new controls for app management with access to the available Wi-Fi networks. This functionality is mainly used to fetch your location. You will be able to view and manage apps that can access Wi-Fi networks by navigating to Settings | Privacy & Security | Location.
Windows 11 will display a new prompt, which will appear the first time an app attempts to access your location or Wi-Fi information. This prompt automatically enables location services and provides the facility for the app to access your location. This will help you to complete tasks such as locating directions or checking the weather without navigating to Settings homepage. Moreover, the prompt will automatically notify users when an app unexpectedly requests access to location services.
You can disable “Notify when apps request location” option on the Location Settings page to hide the prompts. The apps that make use of location or Wi-Fi information will appear in Recent activity on the Location page after granting permission. The location icon will display in the Taskbar while the app is under usage.
After the installation of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25977, SMB over QUIC provides support for additional access control options for clients. As an administrator, you can restrict those clients that can access SMB over QUIC servers. This option does not change the Windows authentication used to make the SMB connection or the end-user experience. This feature mandates access to the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25977 and Windows Server Insider Preview Build 25967 or higher running in a Virtual Machine.
Microsoft also notified few changes and improvements. The Mail and Calendar apps will not be installed after performing a clean install using the latest ISOs. However, the apps will not be removed on upgrade for Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel. The Xbox Game Bar will display as just Game Bar and can be located under the Start menu.
You can also locate them under Settings | System | System Components. You will experience this change via Microsoft Store Game Bar update. The network icon in the system tray automatically animates when a connection is in progress. This animation replaces the disconnected globe when a network is taking too much time to establish connectivity.
Microsoft has included two new keyboard layouts in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25977, which implement the two new German extended layout standards. The extended layouts enable users to type all characters that are required for German, EU Latin-based languages, IPA phonetic transcription, Egyptian hieroglyph transcription, and much more. You should navigate to Settings | Time & language | Language & region and select Language options located under the ellipsis. You should then select Add a keyboard on the options page and check out for the new keyboard shortcuts such as German Extended (E1) or German Extended (E2).
The Build 25977 has added a QR code to share Wi-Fi password under the Wi-Fi properties. A QR code will also be displayed when you configure a mobile hotspot. Microsoft has resolved an issue that affected several games while changing resolution. The performance of the navigation pane in Task Manager has improved. If the .RAR file open blank or with a message captioned insufficient memory, then the problem has been resolved.
Microsoft is working to resolve an issue pertaining to the accessibility of the print queue. You can expect crashing of voice access and the team is working to resolve the problem. Moreover, few popular game will not work properly on certain Windows Insider Preview Builds in the Canary Channel. The Canary Channel builds are hot off the presses. The company provides documentation only when there are new features and improvements.
