Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25997 Fixes Critical Error

Microsoft has released another bout of Windows 11 update to the Canary Channel. The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25997 ships with minor improvements and also resolves an important critical error. Your Microsoft Teams (work or school) contacts will automatically appear in the Windows share dashboard if you are signed in using Microsoft Entra ID. After the installation of this update, you will be able to disable Phone Link in Windows 11. You will find the relevant option under Settings | Bluetooth & devices | Phone Link.

The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25997 has resolved an issue related to the installation of Windows Preview Builds. If Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds failed to install with 0x80004005, then the issue has been resolved. If you happen to see an increase in bug checks after upgrading to the preview builds, then the issue has been resolved. If the File Explorer context menu and the command bar dropdowns goes transparent, then the issue has been fixed in this update.

Microsoft has revealed that few popular games will not work properly on the most recent Windows Insider Preview builds in the Canary Channel. The product team is working hard to resolve the issues. Moreover, Microsoft urges users to file feedback in Feedback Hub in case of any issues. The company is working to resolve pertaining to safe mode hanging on the boot logo while initiating a reboot. The Settings dashboard will crash if you attempt to navigate to Settings | Bluetooth & Devices | Touchpad.

The Windows Insider Preview builds released to the Canary Channel are hot off the presses. Microsoft will provide documentation only if there are any new features or impactful known issues. The Canary Channel is the destination to preview platform changes that require long-lead time before getting pushed to customers. This includes changes to the Windows Kernel, new APIs, and much more. You should note that there will not be daily builds for Canary Channel flights.

Microsoft has started to roll out Copilot in Windows in a phased manner to Windows Insiders in select global markets. The Copilot is now available in North America, United Kingdom, South America, and parts of Asia. Microsoft will continue to add additional markets over time.
