Microsoft has launched Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26002 to the Canary Channel. This flight has introduced energy saver, which extends and enhances battery saver. The battery life and energy consumption can be reduced by trading relevant system performance. The battery saver option can be enabled and disabled via Quick Settings in the system tray. You can also configure in such a way that to run automatically whenever the device reaches a certain battery percentage. The energy saver will be available when PCs are plugged in to save energy.
Improvements
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26002 has improved the overall performance and responsiveness of Quick Settings in the system tray. After the installation of the update, you will be able to manage VPN in Quick Settings. A new split toggle enables you to enable and disable with a single click if you have a single VPN.
VPN Enhancements
The time will be reduced when you open the list if you have multiple VPNs. The update has started to roll out a new refresh button on the Wi-Fi Quick Settings flyout. This will enable you to refresh the list of available wireless networks. The scan progress indicator enables you to locate nearby networks in case the initial scan does not reveal all the network lists.
Push Notifications
The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26002 has started to push account-related notifications for Microsoft accounts on the Settings dashboard. You can easily establish connectivity with the Microsoft apps using a Microsoft account. You can also add extra security steps to prevent users from being locked out of your account. The notifications will be displayed across the Start menu and Settings. The Settings notifications can be managed by navigating to Settings | Privacy & security | General.
Bug Fixes
This update has removed colored backplates from app icons in both Settings | Apps | Installed apps and Settings | System | Notifications. If the apps such as Phone Links failed to install and throws the error 0x87AF0813 in the previous flight, then you will not notice the problem again.
The issue pertaining to Microsoft Store getting stuck while trying to install app updates has been resolved. The update resolved an issue that causes Settings to crash while navigating to Bluetooth & Devices | Touchpad. If the File Explorer crashes while using a non-default regional sorting option, then the problem has been resolved. Microsoft has revealed that popular games will not work properly in the recent Windows Insider Preview builds in the Canary Channel.
You will notice the absence of the Windows Update Settings dashboard after the installation of the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26002. The system can be rebooted by selecting the Windows Update icon in the system tray. You can also open Start and select Power | Restart option. If the safe mode hangs on the boot logo, then the problem has been resolved.
The builds released to the Canary Channel are hot off the presses. The company will provide documentation only if they are any significant and impactful known issues.
