PM Narendra Modi Unveils GPAI Summit 2023: India’s Leap into the AI Future

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023 to be held on December 12 to 14 in Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The GPAI Summit 2023 is being held to boost and motivate the entire AI startup ecosystem. PM Modi took to his official social media handles and posted a detailed outline of the GPAI Summit 2023 including the purpose behind the conduct of the event.

Modi added that AI apps are rapidly expanding at an exponential rate and India is using them to enhance productivity. He also stressed the role of younger generations in shaping the future of AI. Modi asserted that young minds are brilliant and are quickly learning and adopting AI technology.

India is all set to be an active contributor to the AI evolution with a vibrant start-up ecosystem coupled with a talented workforce. Moreover, India provides solutions that are scalable, secure, affordable, sustainable, and can be replicated globally. Modi pointed out India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative as a classic example of AI, which is made possible with rapid penetration of mobile connectivity.

PM Modi revealed that the country is looking forward to adopt AI in the field of languages, education, healthcare, and agriculture. He outlined that India has adopted Ai for the betterment of humanity.

The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) summit comprises 27 member countries including EU. The purpose of the summit is to encourage responsible design, development, and usage of AI. India has made significant contributions to GPAI for the adoption of safe, secure, and accountable AI. India was elected to the GPAI council in November 2022 because of the country’s dedication towards safe and trusted AI solutions.
