Microsoft’s Copilot in Windows Now Manages System Settings and Accessibility with Ease

Microsoft has announced a new runtime for Copilot in Windows. The purpose of the new runtime for Copilot is that you can manage settings via copilot including accessibility-focused settings. Moreover, you can make use of the Power Automate Desktop through Copilot.

The Copilot in Windows now switches on Narrator or Live Captions. It can activate battery saver, display available networks, clean up storage in addition to emptying recycle bin. Microsoft has revealed that Copilot in Windows can now perform following activities.

Ask for available wireless networks.
Ask for system or device information.
Ask for battery information.
Ask to clean storage.
Ask to empty recycle bin.
Ask to toggle battery saver.
Ask to show startup apps.

Microsoft has introduced the Power Automate plugin in Copilot in Windows. This release provides automation functionalities for Excel, file management, and PDF manipulation. The first step is to download/update Power Automate Desktop app from the Microsoft Store. As of this writing, plugins are only accessible if you are signed in to Copilot in Windows using a Microsoft account. You have to activate the plugin in the plugins sections in Copilot in Windows. Microsoft has started to roll out these new features to Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel.
