Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26244 to the Canary Channel. The company announced that they will not release an SDK for builds that are flighted to the Canary Channel. The latest update includes improvements and bug fixes.
After the installation of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26244, the sound settings will be backed up if you have enabled both Personalization and Other Windows settings under Settings | Accounts | Windows backup. You can restore the sound via the Windows Backup easily as and when required.
You will find a Add now button under Settings | Account using which you can add a recovery email address. This measure will protect your Microsoft account in case you lose the password. A new Game Pass recommendation card has been added on the Settings homepage. However, this card will be shown only if you actively play games on your PC. That said, the settings homepage will be displayed on the Home and Pro editions of Windows 11 and you should have signed into Windows with your Microsoft account.
Microsoft has started to rollout changes pertaining to the Fonts Control Panel page. They will be redirected to the Fonts settings page that can be navigated at Settings | Personalization | Fonts. If you view a Pcasvc.dll error dialog pop-up with the message “Missing entry: PcaWallpaperAppDetect”, then the issue has been resolved.
If your system hangs upon the installation of Build 26040 or 23620, then the product team is currently conducting an investigation. However, you can perform a clean installation of Windows 11 if you face this problem. That’s why it’s important to backup all the important files before performing a update installation. Microsoft is also looking into the issues related to the incorrect display of the Windows Update page in Settings. If the colors in the Performance section doesn’t display properly in dark mode, then the problem has been resolved. The issues associated with Voice Typing with certain languages like Chinese will be resolved in the upcoming flights.
