Redmi Note 9 to launch in India today: How to watch, Expected Specifications

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the much-awaited Redmi Note 9 in India. The smartphone will be launched via an online event at 12 PM IST. It is to be noted that the smartphone companies have stopped conducting physical launch events after the COVID-19 lockdown. There are reports that the company will ditch 4GB RAM to pave way for the 6GB RAM. Moreover, you can expect the availability of the 64GB and 128GB expandable storage variants.

Redmi Note 9 Specifications – Expected

The Redmi Note 9 is equipped with a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the Note 9 will be powered by Helio G85 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage loaded with MIUI 11 based on Android 10 operating platform. You will be able to extend the storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Talking about the optics, the Redmi Note 9 will ship with a quad-camera mechanism comprising of a 48MP (f/1.79) Primary, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensors respectively. The selfie front comes with a 13MP sensor with LED Flash. The phone borrows power via a 5020mAh battery with support for up to 18W fast charging technology. Xiaomi will most likely bundle the charger along with the smartphone.

In addition to 4G VoLTE, the Redmi Note 9 also provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, IR, and a dedicated USB Type-C port. The fingerprint sensor is housed below the camera sensors on the rear. The Redmi Note 9 will also offer support for NFC but it will be available only in select regions.

The Redmi Note 9 will launch at 12 PM via an online event. You will be able to watch the live stream on YouTube and updates on Mi India official Twitter handle. We will know the exact pricing and availability date after the launch event. However, we infer that the pricing of 64GB storage will be equal to around INR 15999 because of the increase in the GST and other factors. You can expect the availability of the devices in four color variants.
