WhatsApp smartphones hitlist has been announced. WhatsApp will end support for several smartphones by the end of each year and 2022 is not at all different. The social media messaging giant will officially stop support for several Android and iPhone devices by December 31. If you work with these devices, then you should migrate to a supported device after performing backup.
According to GizChina, WhatsApp is ending support for nearly 49 smartphones across various brands on December 31. You will not be able to receive software and updates on these smartphones after this date. You can work with the devices but you have to retain the existing version of WhatsApp. You should note that very few people make use of older smartphones and hence the decision of Meta looks correct. You should capture a complete backup of your WhatsApp account including locally stored images. You should purchase a brand new smartphone pre-loaded with the latest Android version and then migrate all the content from your old device to the new smartphone. You can retain the old phone but you will not be able to upgrade to the latest WhatsApp version. YOu should note that all the devices available now are latest and you should check the specifications.
