OnePlus 2 OxygenOS 3.5.5 update gets better with VoLTE support

OnePlus has rolled out OxygenOS 3.5.5 update for the flagship OnePlus 2 with support for VoLTE. This feature was in huge demand from various technical community quarters. However, the latest update is applicable only for select mobile service providers. The arrival of VoLTE support signals the arrival of Android 7.0 Nougat update.

According to OnePlus, the rollout of OxygenOS 3.5.5 will happen in a phased manner. Initially, the update will reflect to a small small proportion of users. The company sources reveal that a broader rollout can be expected in the upcoming days.

After the installation of OxygenOS 3.5.5 update, you can able to establish VoLTE calls from within your OnePlus 2 to select mobile service providers. However, the company has not yet revealed the names of mobile service providers.

To recall, the company had announced the arrival of VoLTE for the OnePlus 2 in September. The company also revealed that the handset provides complete support for Reliance Jio networks. In addition to VoLTE support, the update also brings in few minor updates and refreshed interface.

Someof the other popular features of the OxygenOS 3.5.5 update are the introduction of App Lock, Battery saving mode, Gaming mode, new Alert slider options including a new volume adjustment bar. You will also find few minor bug ixes and optimisations in this update.

Interestingly, the OxygenOS 3.5.5 update doesn’t provide the much-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat to OnePlus 2 gadgets. However, if you install the update, you will get December 1 Android security patch level.
