TRAI tipped to refresh plan comparison portal with tariff data of all providers

TRAI

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has reportedly requested all telecom service providers to provide them with updated tariff data information to enable them to expand plan comparison site. According to reports, the regulatory authority has requested operators to provide data about tariff plans in all telecom circles.

The purpose of the request is to expand the recently launched beta site, which only provides information about Gujarat and Delhi circles. The beta version of the portal was released by the TRAI to bring the tariff details of all operators under one single umbrella.

The advantage is that users can easily compare the packages and opt for a relevant provider of their choice. Moreover, it will bring transparency related to the various data offerings. Initially, the project was started with Delhi telecom circle but has been gradually expanded to include Gujarat circle as well. The portal will be updated as soon as relevant information from the operators across all telecom circles is filed before the regulatory authority.

According to sources, the authority hasn’t paid down any specific deadline for the supply of the tariff plans. That said, the TRAI won’t recommend any service provider but will provide a facility for the consumers to access all tariffs at a single place. The information available on the official websites of the service providers will be curated.

To access the tariff rates of Delhi and Gujarat, you need to navigate to tariff.trai.gov.in and select the required options. The portal will not only benefit consumers but also various stakeholders to perform a comparative analysis.

The portal provides information pertaining to plan voucher, special tariff vouchers, value-added service packages including promotional tariffs. You can filter results by selecting the various options.
