

Xiaomi has announced the release of Redmi A2 and A2+ smartphones in India. The new devices are priced at a budget-friendly price with exciting specifications. The phone comprises a 6.52-inch HD+ display, Helio G36 processor backed by a 5000mAh battery. The company has integrated up to 4GB RAM with up to 3GB virtual RAM. The handset comes pre-loaded with Android 13 Go Edition. On the optics front, the Redmi A2 series includes an 8MP rear camera with a secondary depth sensor. There is a paltry 5MP sensor on the front for capturing selfies. The 5000mAh battery is well supported by 10W charging. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the rear for easy unlocking.
Redmi A2 and A2+ specifications
The Redmi A2 series flaunts a 6.52-inch HD+ IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 120Hz touch sampling rate alongside 400-nits brightness. On the internals, the Redmi A2 is powered by an Helio G36 12nm processor paired with 1MG PowerVR GE8320 graphics processor.
The phone will be available in 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM variants coupled with 32GB and 64GB eMMC 5.1 expandable internal storage. The company has bundled Android 13 Go Edition. On the optics, the Redmi A2 features an 8MP (f/2.0 aperture) rear camera paired with a 5MP (f/2.2 aperture) front camera.
In addition to headphone port, the Redmi A2+ also includes a fingerprint sensor on the rear. You will not find a fingerprint sensor on the Redmi A2 device. Like in the case of all Redmi devices, the Redmi A2 series also includes dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, and Micro USB port. The addition of Micro USB port will be useful because of its simplicity. The phone borrows power via a 5000mAh battery backed by 10W charging.
Pricing and availability
The Redmi A2 will be up for grabs in 2GB and 4GB RAM variants. The 2GB model will be available in both 32GB and 64GB storage variants. While the 32GB model is priced at INR 6299, the 64GB storage variant will hit the retail shelves for INR 6799. The 4GB RAM with 64GB model is available for INR 7999.
The Redmi A2+ is available in 4GB RAM with 64GB storage at INR 8499. The company announced that 2GB RAM model will be available later. You can grab the new devices from Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home Stores, and other offline retail stores. As part of the launch offer, the company is offering up to INR 500 for purchases made via ICICI, HDFC, and Axis Bank Credit Card. The company is offering free one-year extended warranty worth INR 599 for a limited time.
