Microsoft Taps Former OpenAI CEO Sam Altman To Lead AI Research Team

Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, and other former OpenAI’s executives will join Microsoft. The new development was revealed by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on his official X (formerly Twitter) page. Nadella disclosed that Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, and other colleagues will be joining Microsoft to lead a new Advanced AI research team. The company is moving quickly to provide the executives with the required resources that are needed for success.

Nadella also added that Microsoft is committed to continue partnership with OpenAI. The Redmond-based technology giant will continue to innovate all the AI projects that were announced during Microsoft Ignite. Microsoft will work under Emmett Shear and OAI’s new leadership team.
