Microsoft News app for Windows 10 has been updated with Live Tiles support. You can easily pin any topic from inside the Microsoft News app directly to your Windows 10 Start Menu. The Live Tiles support has been designed in such a way that it automatically updates with the latest news. Moreover, the tiles also display rotational fresh headlines on images. The advantage of the new update is that you will be able to view the latest news right from your Start menu.
Microsoft introduced Live Tiles with the Windows 8 operating system. The feature got rave reviews among Windows users because of the unique style. Even though Windows 7 was popular at that, users adapted to the Live Tiles capability included with Windows 8. Those users who have been working with Windows 7 got bored and demanded new features.
Microsoft responded back with Live Tiles in Windows 8. However, the lack of powerful processors was a major drawback during those times. With the advancement of new processors, the Live Tiles in Windows 10 will work like a charm. The usage of Live Tiles has been substantially reduced in Windows 10. However, few apps still make use of the functionality.
There are rumors that Microsoft is gearing up to ditch Live Tiles completely in the upcoming versions of Windows. However, we don’t have any official confirmation about the development. That being said, the Live Tiles will stay here for a long time. Microsoft is working towards to add new features in the upcoming iterations of Windows. We will keep you updated. Stay tuned.
